So here's a beautiful backstory: Gordon 'Butch' Stewart, the legendary founder of the family-welcoming Beaches Resort and adult-only Sandals Resorts, flew with his family to Turks and Caicos back in 1995. His dad was an avid sailor who'd sail from Canada to the Caribbean, and he told Stewart that of all the places he'd sailed in the world, 'Turks and Caicos is the most beautiful place in the world.' Stewart's son, Adam Stewart, is now the Executive Chairman of the Caribbean-based resort company and President of the Sandals Foundation. "We lost my father five and a-half years ago," Adam shared at the grand opening celebration of Beaches Turks and Caicos Treasure Beach Village. "He was a champion in believing what is possible — the Caribbean dream, Caribbean tourism and Caribbean people, more than anybody else I know." Honestly, you could feel the emotion in his voice.

This vibrant indoor and outdoor social dining space brings all the tropical vibes as you bite into smoky tacos, fresh baked breads, Asian stir-fry, Italian delights, and Mexican specialties. The beloved signature Butch's Chop House from Sandals Resorts has made its debut at Beaches Turks and Caicos Treasure Beach Village, and steak lovers are going to lose their minds. It's like the ocean itself designed the place.

Self-taught artist Richard McGhie's eye-catching 'Leading the Pack' acrylic wall mural by the lagoon pool depicts a turtle family swimming in a reef — and honestly, it stopped me in my tracks. This artist has only been painting for about seven years, and his piece shows a young turtle swimming just ahead of its family. McGhie said it 'showcases guidance, protection and generational continuity.' How beautiful is that?

Another local artist, Ancy Dorisca, created 'Paradise Found' using string, metal, and wood. This self-taught string artist is known as an extraordinary local creator — he transforms nails and thread into dimensional Caribbean forms. His bird sculptures reflect such patience, precision, and island creativity. I was genuinely mesmerized.

During the day, you can take a Hobie Cat, kayak, or paddle board out into that crystal-blue, ridiculously clear water. Beaches water sports staff will also take you out on a snorkel boat trip to explore Princess Alexandra National Park. Fun fact: Turks and Caicos is home to the third largest Great Barrier Reef, stretching approximately 340 miles around the islands and home to an incredible diversity of marine life.
